Pledge Your Support
Can you help in our promise to improve, inform and educate all current pet owners and potential pet owners within the UK?

The Pet Education Trust believes that all pets have a right to a life that is happy and free from threat; they are not here to be abused, forgotten or neglected.  We are still seeing too many pets being abandoned or placed into rescue centres.

Here’s why:

♦ Inexperienced owners who didn’t do thorough research or give enough serious consideration to the right type or breed of pet that would fit into their current lifestyle.
♦  Lack of appreciation regarding the time commitment, the amount of effort or the cost it would involve introducing a pet into the family home.
♦ Frustrated owners who haven’t got the time, patience or understanding to work with behavioural challenges.
♦ Unethical breeders who care more about money than the life of the animal they have helped to create.

The Pet Education Trust (PET) believes that concentrated focus on teaching responsible pet ownership throughout the UK (whether you have a dog, parrot or reptile), will go towards eradicating the growing number of pets that are still misunderstood by uneducated owners.

We pledge to educate, inform, guide and support all current and potential pet owners from all walks of life; whether it’s matching the right breed to the right owner in the right household; providing help and advice on specific pet issues; aiding the education of animals in schools; offering educational courses for youth groups and vulnerable communities or working alongside and aiding local communities and councils with any pet related projects.

But, we need your help to do this. Please pledge your support now.

All money donated will help the Pet Education Trust at both local and national levels. It will allow PET to:

♦ Assist, support and fund any pet ownership community projects by working closely with the local authorities and schools involved.
♦ Develop and maintain educational programmes and funding for schools that are looking to house a pet and educate children on pet safety.
♦ Research and devise Pet Welfare and Responsible Pet Ownership information and literature for any pet owner or potential pet owner to include correct feeding habits, good training techniques, acceptable manners in a public place, health awareness and family safety around pets and animals etc.
♦ Deliver Youth Education courses – REAP (Recreational Education for Animals and People, a course devised to introduce ‘status dogs’ as pets and not weapons to educate vulnerable groups).
♦ Continuously develop the ‘Which Pet for Me’ programme – an on-line database used to decipher the compatibility of a potential pet owner’s lifestyle with the most suitable type and breed of pet for their circumstances.
♦ Assist other pet support agencies by adding strength to a common message.
♦ Assist local and national government departments.
♦ Assist local and national community groups.
♦ Work with vulnerable communities such as ethnic groups or disadvantaged youngsters.
♦ Support any pet orientated community groups who need a source of funding or products to help their cause.

You can pledge a donation by clicking the orange button at the top of the page

With your support we can ensure a safer, happier, life and environment for all pets.

In return donators will receive-

♦ A monthly Pet Education Trust newsletter with free pet product promotions and offers
♦ Relevant information leaflets
♦ Personal invitations to Community Events in your area
♦ Access to discounts for consumer pet shows, pet insurance and finance facilities
