Tim Hayes is the founder of Midland Reefs, the first commercial coral farm in the UK. As well as servicing the retail aquarium trade, Midland Reefs’ customers include some of the most prestigious aquariums in the UK such as the Deep, the National Marine Aquarium, the London Aquarium, and the Zoological Society of London.
Tim attends many major US and European marine conferences, often as a speaker and is in contact with the many of the leading authorities of the US and EU marine aquarium hobby.
As Co-founder of the European organisation, the Sustainable Aquarium Industry Association (SAIA), Tim has written and compiled many of SAIA’s “Best Practices” documents, along with a training course for retailers. He is also a dedicated author, having written well over 100 articles which have been published in aquarium magazines throughout Europe and the USA.
